How to uninstall MapQuest Toolbar from the computer quickly

I am on Google Chrome now and seeking for a way to get rid of the annoying MapQuest Toolbar drop down. It is really a frustrating thing in my computer. I don’t know how it got downloaded and installed on my PC. Seems like it is some kind of extensions. I don’t have much technical knowledge and for that I need a simply solution.-

I have just received this email from one reader asking me for solutions to uninstall MapQuest Toolbar. Well, just follow the steps here and you will be able to remove MapQuest Toolbar from your computer immediately.

Of course, this issue has something to do with the extensions. To check and remove it, just go after these steps:
Go to chrome://extensions/
See whether you can find the feture installed or not. If so disable it to see what happens.
If it still appears, then disable all your extensions.
Now re-enable your necessary add-ons one by one and see when you start getting “DropInSaving$” drop-down menu. If you are not able to remove MapQuest Toolbar from the computer with the above steps, then you can easily perform the steps below to go:
Click Start> Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs. In Windows Vista & Windows 7 you will see it as “Programs/Features”.
Choose the plug-in from the list of software, and click Uninstall/Remove. By following the on-screen steps, you will be able to remove MapQuest Toolbar from the computer. But this won’t work properly on all computers as it may leave down some unneeded entries both in your hard disk & your registry database. If in this situation, you may end up with a greatly mess-up system, slow computer performance and even system crash.

How To Prevent Files From Being Deleted And How To Deal With Deleted Files

There have been several situations with computers and laptops where files and folders have accidentally been deleted either by you or a family member, or perhaps, someone just randomly messing around on your PC. However, there are other causes of files being erased, like those that we have no control of whatsoever, meaning, they just have to happen naturally. Here are a few of the many causes of data loss:

1. Computer viruses. This is a common problem among several PCs viruses. Sometimes, even if users have an antivirus software installed into their PC, it still may not be automatic in checking and getting rid of viruses, that, they end up accumulating in your computers system. This unfortunately results in the crashing of a computer, therefore, forcing you to lose some of your documents, pictures, music, videos and others, especially those that have been detected with a virus.

2. Natural disasters. These include floods, earthquakes, heavy rain, thunder, lightning and more, which usually always result in the same thing: loss of electricity. You could be using your computer when these natural disasters happen, that, when the electricity suddenly goes off, it is most likely that you will have lost a few of your files, especially if you have been working on a certain document. Another result is your computer having a system failure due to the power breakdown as well. It is common for PCs to have system failures and once these happen, sometimes, you wont be able to have your PC restored, that you end up losing everything.

The Challenge of NFC for the DoD

NFC access card technology, via smart phones, like the Blackberry and iPhone. NFC is near field communication and is essentially two-way RFID, or radio frequency identification. NFC key cards are already in use in the hotel and airline industries, with downloadable room keys and boarding passes. Experts believe that eventually driver’s licenses and passport information will migrate to the NFC platform, but currently, there are too many problems with issuance, interoperability and security, that must be resolved first. One major issue for NFC-enabled mobile devices is that older cell phones do not have the installed chips. Existing smart phones without embedded NFC readers could work via Bluetooth tethering or a USB port.

The DoD put out a request for information in September of 2010, to start looking at NFC, to replace its Common Access Card and government employees’ PIV, or personal identity verification, credentials. Used by three million people for logical and physical access, the DoD CAC/PIV smartcard would be a big boon to the winning developer of the chip technology contract. The DoD is considering adding global payment, ATM access, and management of public transit service benefits to the card’s functionality. The DoD would also like to develop a debit card for military personnel, to be able to buy groceries both on and off base.

NFC is divided into two camps, open and secure. Open NFC allows for checking into hotel rooms, stores, or flights. Secure NFC enables financial transactions, whether through NFC access keys or NFC-enabled smartphones. The former can be developed much more rapidly than the latter because of the necessity of multiple layers of security and the complex nature of creating data protection software. Security is obviously the biggest concern for the DoD. Because of the many platforms and systems that support NFC, the potential for hackers and cyber-terrorists to develop viruses and malware is great.
